Panel Discussion with Film Screening -- "Everybody's Work" - Healing what hurts us all

In recognition of Black History Month, the West Virginia Nurses Association (WVNA) is pleased to present a virtual screening of the documentary Everybody’s Work: Healing What Hurts Us All, followed by a panel discussion.

This powerful film explores how racism in healthcare impacts patients and those who care for them. It invites participants from all races and cultures into an honest conversation about equity, compassion, and healing. As healthcare professionals, we cannot fully heal individuals or communities unless we are willing to examine the systems and experiences that shape care.

The virtual screening will be followed by a facilitated panel discussion featuring:

• Meedie Bardonille, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, PCCN-K, FCN, FADLN
• The Honorable Delegate Shawn Hornbuckle

This event offers an opportunity for reflection, learning, and meaningful dialogue as we work together to strengthen healthcare and support healing for all.

“Everybody’s Work” uncovers the pervasive issue of racism in healthcare, revealing its harmful effects on patients and nurses alike. Through the courageous stories of nurses and patients of color across the country, this documentary challenges the belief that racism only exists if personally experienced. It urges us to confront the reality that it impacts us all.
