Dear West Virginia Nurses,
Thank you for all of your calls and emails! We’re working to make advocacy easier with a one-click link to contact all Delegates and Senators when needed.
Update on Childhood Immunizations Bills:
Sharing info. from the WV Immunization Network (WIN).
"On Thursday, April 10, 2025, both HB 2402 and HB 2776 were on 3rd reading with right to amend on the Senate floor. This is also the vote stage. Here is what happened:
HB 2402: The Senate Health Chair moved to withdraw the committee amendment. This action removed the language which would have prevented the requirement to furnish immunization records as proof that a child had met the immunization requirements. The bill passed the Senate with no impact on immunization.
HB 2776: The Senate Health Chair moved to withdraw the committee amendment. This action removed the language that added nonmedical exemptions into the bill. The bill passed the Senate with no impact on immunizations".
UPDATE - Success on the CRNA Bill SB 810:
SB 810 has completed legislation! It officially recognizes the full scope of practice for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), removing outdated restrictions that kept CRNAs from working at the top of their licensure. This change means more consistent and timely access to safe, high-quality anesthesia care—especially in rural and underserved communities. WVNA has sent a letter to Governor Morrisey encouraging him to sign the bill.
The legislative session ends at midnight tonight (April 12, 2025), we continue to watch for changes to bills that we have on our legislative agenda. We are sharing the link to the legislature calendar for today so that you can watch the final floor sessions.

Please take a moment to reach out and thank Senators and Delegates that have responded to you and were opposed to the immunization amendments to the bills and that supported the CRNA bill and the CPM licensure bill.
