It’s Election Season at WVNA – Your Voice Matters!
It’s time to shape the future of the West Virginia Nurses Association! The WVNA Elections officially open at 5 PM on November 1, 2025, and will close at 5 PM on November 15, 2025.
This year, members will elect new leaders to the Board of Directors, including the positions of Vice President and Secretary. These roles are essential to driving WVNA’s mission forward and amplifying the voice of nurses across our state.
All voting members, check your WVNA email for your voter ID and voter key, sent on November 1 at 5 PM.

Candidates for the office of Vice President
Jodi Biller, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC

Jodi Biller, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, is a dedicated Nurse Practitioner and the Director of Clinical Improvement for MHC ACO at Marshall Health Network (MHN). Dr. Biller specializes in population health management and enhancing patient-centered outcomes. She actively manages payor relations and participates in state and national healthcare associations, sharing her expertise in value-based care, population health, and healthcare advocacy through presentations and discussions. Dr. Biller collaborates with senior executives and payors to develop and implement comprehensive population health management strategies that align with the network's goals and objectives. She also leads, mentors, and manages high-performing quality and care management teams, cultivating a team-based, risk-informed, and patient-centered environment. Dr. Biller practices part-time in an outpatient pulmonary clinic, seeing patients with chronic respiratory diseases and sleep disorders, where she has practiced since 2020. Dr. Biller received a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from West Virginia University (2019-2022), Master of Science in Nursing degree from Marshall University (2010-2013), and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Marshall University (2008-2010).
Adam T. Fannin, MSN, MHA, APRN, AG-ACNP, NE-BC, NI-BC, CNE, CNEcl, CHSE, CCRN, CNRN, SCRN

Molly Kluemper, BSN, RN

Molly Kluemper BSN, RN
Molly's career began in public relations, where she developed a strong foundation in effective communication and outreach. A pivotal moment later inspired her transition to nursing, a field where she discovered a profound calling to serve others.
Her professional journey has spanned diverse roles, including work in device education, which allowed her to influence patient care from coast to coast. Molly’s leadership skills continued to grow as she served as a House Supervisor and Clinical Manager, gaining valuable experience in high-stakes, fast-paced environments.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Molly stepped into the critical role of ICU nurse, providing compassionate and skilled care when it was needed most. Today, she serves as a Clinical Instructor for St. Mary’s School of Nursing, where she empowers future nurses and helps strengthen West Virginia’s healthcare community.
Family and faith remain central to Molly’s life, inspiring her to support her children as they pursue their own passions. As Vice President of the West Virginia Nurses Association, she is dedicated to advancing nursing leadership, professional growth, and advocacy across the state. For Molly, it is both an honor and a privilege to serve the nursing profession and the people of West Virginia.
Kayla Roe, MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC

Kayla Roe MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, educator, and dedicated advocate for nursing leadership and mental health equity. With over a decade of experience in clinical care, women’s health, and nursing education, she currently teaches in the RN program at West Virginia Junior College and serves on the West Virginia Nurses Association Health Policy Committee.
In 2024, she was honored with the WVNA Mentorship Award in recognition of her commitment to guiding and uplifting future nurses. A Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) candidate at Marshall University, she is deeply passionate about advancing access to high-quality, equitable care for all West Virginians. Her leadership is rooted in a strong belief that healthcare policy should reflect the real needs of the people it serves. She brings a fearless and grounded voice to every space she enters, whether at the bedside, in the classroom, or in the policy arena.
Candidates for the office of Secretary
Miranda Nuzum, DNP, RN, NE-BC, CCRN

Miranda Nuzum, DNP, RN, NE-BC, CCRN is an accomplished nurse leader with over 24 years of experience in nursing at the bedside and flight nursing. She also has served in nursing leadership roles since 2016. Known for her transformational leadership style and dedication to coaching and mentoring new nurse leaders, Miranda has demonstrated a strong commitment to patients, families, employees, and all aspects of the healthcare team. She is dedicated to promoting support to all families in WV and the serving regions, and advocating for changes in the healthcare system.
Katelyn Shepherd, MSN, CNE, RN,CDCES, CSN

Katelyn Shepherd, MSN, CNE, RN, CDCES, CSN
Katelyn's nursing journey began at Mercer County Technical Education Center’s LPN program in Princeton. She went on to earn both her Associate and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees—with a minor in psychology—from Bluefield State University.
Driven by a passion for teaching, Katelyn earned a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Nursing Education from Walden University, where she also became a Certified Nurse Educator. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Walden University.
From an early age, Katelyn Shepherd knew she wanted a career in healthcare. Her love for helping others and passion for learning naturally led her to nursing—and eventually, to nursing education.
Katelyn believes that knowledge is power and finds deep fulfillment in inspiring students to reach their full potential. As a faculty member at Bluefield State University, she is dedicated to preparing the next generation of nurses to be skilled, compassionate, and culturally sensitive caregivers.
Her teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive, student-focused learning environment where every student feels valued. Katelyn also believes education is a lifelong journey and that the best educators continue to learn, grow, and model excellence for their students.
Katelyn boasts nearly a decade of professional experience in the nursing field and has worked across multiple specialty areas such as Geriatrics, CCU, Emergency Department, Psychiatric Medicine, and Pediatrics. Throughout her experience, Katelyn has assumed charge nurse responsibilities in some of these roles and has even facilitated educational programs to enhance the quality of care. Katelyn’s diverse experience has given her a strong understanding of the healthcare system and the needs of patients in different settings. She is passionate about providing high-quality care and ensuring that patients receive the support they need to recover and thrive. Katelyn is also committed to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in the nursing field throughout her research studies. Her dedication to her work and her patientshas earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and superiors, and she continues to be a valuable asset to any healthcare team she joins.
Katelyn’s diligent efforts have been instrumental in her successful career. Notably, she has acquired additional certifications as a certified nurse educator and a certified diabetes care and education specialist. Katelyn has completed two American Sign Language courses and has studied about Deaf culture to be able to better communicate with patient who are hearing impaired. Katelyn has also authored multiple children’s books, including one focused on diabetes and another aimed at preventing vaping among children.
Katelyn’s dedication to nursing and her passion for helping others shine through in every aspect of her work. Committed to lifelong learning, she continually advances her education and stays current with emerging trends in nursing and healthcare. Her creativity and ability to connect with others—especially children—are evident in her authored children’s books that focus on diabetes education and vaping prevention.
After being diagnosed with diabetes herself, Katelyn turned her experience into advocacy. She now serves as an educator and voice for diabetes awareness, dedicating special attention to gestational diabetes. Through The Gestational Diabetes Podcast on Spotify, Katelyn reaches women around the world, offering education, encouragement, and a sense of community for those navigating the condition.
Looking ahead, Katelyn hopes to make a lasting impact in nursing education and research, focusing on women’s health, diabetes, and psychiatric medicine. She draws inspiration from her grandfather’s words, “Be good, do good,” a philosophy she carries into both her teaching and patient care. Katelyn strives to instill this same spirit of compassion, humility, and purpose in her students—empowering them to become knowledgeable, empathetic nurses who make a positive difference in the world.
